Opening Time Garden

How to open the Time Garden vault inside Obsidian for the first time, plus the introduction modal walkthrough.

  1. Open Obsidian on your Windows/Mac/Linux device to find this view: !Obsidian Vault Creation Screen.png
  2. If you already had a vault opened before, find "manage vaults", by clicking the name of your vault on the bottom left: !Vault Switch and manage vaults field.png
  3. Click the "Open" Button on "Open Folder as Vault" !Obsidian vault creation screen open.png
  4. Locate your "Time-Garden-Vault" Folder. And hit "Open" !File explorer Open Mac.png
  5. Hit "Trust Author and Enable Plugins".
    • Otherwise Obsidian won't allow the custom Time Garden Plugin as well as other essential community-made plugins to function. !Trust Author and enable plugins.png
  6. Now the introduction window should appear if you did everything correctly: !Time Garden Onboarding Modal.png ‼️ If you instead see the plugin-settings window FIRST (rare case), simply close it to then see the introduction window.
  7. (And also) simply after clicking away the awesome introduction, close the plugin-settings window if it's still present: !Obsidian Settings Close.png
  8. If the Menu has intimidating source-code still showing, don't worry! A simple reopening of obsidian should fix that. But also, you could just immediately click the "Open daily note" button on the left manually this one time! !Time Garden Open Daily Note ribbon.png

Good to know!

You had to click the green "open daily note button" only this one time, as usually, whenever you open Time Garden, the daily note of today opens automatically on startup!

(If you want to disable that, see Changing Daily Note Opening on Startup)

  1. En voilà, your first daily note! !Default Daily Note View.png

Does your Daily Note look different?

Any weird code still visible? Or smth else?
